The Guiding Lights Network

Community Projects

Who are you? What do you want in life? How do you get it? And how do you pass it on? Too many young people in America do not have the skills, the support, or the social capital to begin answering these questions in a constructive way. The Guiding Lights Network's Youth Institutes are specially tailored programs that impart some of the essential skills they need to succeed in life – skills like discipline, presence, compassion, persistence, and imagination. In a carefully designed cycle of experiential learning, we bring local and national luminaries from diverse professions and walks to work and play with youth, to learn alongside them, and to model what it means to be a responsible member of a family, neighborhood, community and country. Let the Guiding Lights Network design and build an Institute that can teach our young people the one thing they don't get in school: how to be.
